Kitchen Appliances.

First 2nd year project. I had to come up with concepts for the item Kitchen Appliances, the deadline was 5 days. This is the outcome, along with some poor photoshop work.

A few bits from my summer sketchbook, things that i actually like. I want to take these styles further, i guess we will see what happens. I'm back at uni now so hopefully i will be producing more work, I'll try and update this blog more.

i miss you. R.I.P

I had my dog Rosie put down on Saturday, after she was attacked by another dog she ended up with a fractured skull and brain damage. Seeing her go into shock was one of the worst things to see, when you love something so much but you know there is nothing you can do to help them.
I got her for my birthday exactly 13 years ago yesterday. I feel pretty empty, like i just lost a best friend. I miss her so much already.

Hot 'n' fresh out the kitchen!

The oh so mysterious Paul Smith (Helen's Dad)

I found this picture in Helen's holiday pictures, i thought it was a classic picture. So we ended up with this! I guess this will be more amusing if you know Paul Smith! Ohhhhh, how we love him!

I WANT.....

Well, it has defiantly been a while since i updated. I'm finally back at home in Ch-Ch-Chorley, I've had a few good nights since getting back but the rest of the time i have been back it has been SLOW! So now I'm sat at home watching Glasto wishing i was there so much. I think i might have to purchase a ticket for next year!
Marcel the macbook had a near death experience yesterday, i managed to stub my toe while carrying Marcel and a pint of water, yeah you can guess what happened from that. Anyway my mac wouldn't turn on yesterday, i was absolutely shitting myself. But everything is working fine today like nothing ever happened! lucky escape!

Over the past two days I've been getting on with my summer brief, making myself get some drawing done. I've actually been missing drawing, anyway i think it's time i got to grip with photoshop so i shoved the image above into it before and just added a tiny bit of colour. I like how it has turned out! I've also been hunting around for some artists/illustrators that i haven't heard of before, and I've found quite a few that I'm digging! And i know what i want for my next tat. I guess the week hasn't been wasted.

Good Morning Falmouth Docks.

I started today at 5.30am by going on a walk to the beach, i was lost in my own little world for 2 hours, it made my day feel amazing.

monsters?

Ohhh Haiiiii

Most recent piece of work, pretty happy with this little creature, but i did feel sick when i painting this. Done in watercolour detailed with the one and only 0.18 uni-ball signo bit and a selection of other pens!
Deadline next Wednesday, defiantly not ready for it, then summative assessment on Thursday! I've got lots of work to do and not enough time! I'm starting to forget what sleep is! :(

In the real world, you must wear shoes.

Recently i've really been getting into doing loads of location drawing, this could just be because the deadline is drawing closer, but i've started treating my sketch books more like a visual diary.
I really like most stuff in there. It's making me feel more inspired!

Oh hello.....

The other day i bought a typewriter, it was a lovely little find. I'm so happy with it, i want to use it in my work, but I'm not too sure how well it will work with the brief that I'm doing at the moment. I also went to a car boot sale last Friday and found some sweet things, i bought a postcard, well actually its the one in the picture above. Its dated April 17th 1902. Pretty crazy, but it's really charming as a child has drawn on the back and wrote a little message that you can't really read. I also bought some cigarette cards, they are all different, one of the packs have some Alice in Wonderland cards in. I'm so happy with these new finds and purchases.

"I like my men with more stubble than sense!"

A cheeky little picture i took at the Eden Project.

Well, It's been some time since I last updated. Heres a little run down of what I've been doing since I last posted. Well, firstly I've returned back to Falmouth, and did lots of tourist things with my parents, road trip to Plymouth with the girls. New piercing (septum), partying and beaching it up and now I'm back to doing uni work.

My friend sent me this piece a couple of weeks ago, i think its absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Its the artwork for Casiotone For The Painfully Alone new album Vs. Children, which is a pretty sweet album. I'm gonna get onto finding out who the artist is.

Completely Pointless.

The North, My Roots.

First post in a little while, where do i start? Well, last week i went to The Lakes for a few days, i had an absolutely lovely time. Basically i just acted like a 6 year old for the whole to days, apart from when i was driving! We scrambled up and down some hills, through some bogs, over walls on to private land! Me and Helen decided we were going to steal Kates gran, the nicest and cutest person that walks on this earth, not even kidding!

Over the space of Thursday to Monday i miss placed my life somewhere! But yer, piece by piece I'm finding it again, mainly that's because I'm packing all my things up ready for the move back to Falmouth, that I'm sort of resenting at the moment because i feel like I've just come home and people are still only just getting back from their unis. Bad times i guess.

Over the last two days I've had some blasts from the past, i found my memory box the other day....haha, its a complete joke. All my ex's are in there and best friends i lost contact with or grew out of! I guess the thing that sent me on the hunt for the past was from Friday night when i was out with Max and Helen, we couldn't stop laughing at something Max had said in a questionnaire years ago, it wasn't even that funny just that it said his Favourite song was Outkast Hey ya, then it just kept reappearing throughout. But yerrr, i went on to my old myspace to see if i could find any funny things, and ended up coming across this awful picture of myself, I'm going to share this with you guys, and hope you laugh as much as i did. I can't believe i looked like this when i was 16! Oh dear. I guess this is when i was in love with MCR.

Back to Falmouth on Friday....
I'm gonna try and get some work done tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes!

Get yer posters out......

Happy 1st April!

Heres your next peek at my work.

Edinburgh Book Festival poster.

I really enjoyed this project, once it got going anyway. Sorry about the really bad quality picture of this. But yeah, basically its mean't to represent escaping real life as you do at festivals and while reading books. I'm pretty happy with this poster. ha, my brain is pretty dead at the moment.

I just like this. :)

Fudging Fudgers.

Yesterday i bought a picture book illustrated by a guy called Oliver Jeffers for my nephews birthday. So today i decided to check his work, and honestly i think it's completely amazing, I'm absolutely in love with it. He's done loads of sweet stuff, but anyway i felt really inspired after looking at his work, so i really wanted to use some paints in my sketch book and just go for it really. But i then struck a problem after 5 minutes later, realising my paints were in still in Falmouth, complete error there on my part. So then i got into a bit of a hissy fit with myself and all creativeness just ended, complete bummer! but yerrrrr, that's my story for today.
I'll leave you with some lovely images from Oliver Jeffers.

I always want my sketch books to look like this unfortunately i don't work this way.

Illy B, the bain of my life.

Soooooo, i spent two terms working on my Illy B (illustrated book) and i hated every second of it! So lets just say from now i never ever EVER want to do a whole illustrated book again in my life, if i ever had to do it again it would be far too soon.
But hey ho, i put a bit of effort into it so i might as well get some pages of it up here. I do think now looking back that i really should of put more effort into it, instead of just pissing around and then pulling all nighters days before the deadline. I really do wish i'd been more creative and spent more time thinking about the text.
But whats done is done, and there is nothing i can do about it now.

Lets get this ball rolling.

Alright, so i thought it was about time for me to get going on this blog. Time to do something slightly productive on my uneventful Saturday night.
This is a piece of work i did for uni, i had two days to come up with a few ideas, a rough and then a final piece! The project was called 'Project X' which was sprung up on us around a month ago, this was probably one of the projects that I've enjoyed the most.

Gah, please excuse the crap scanning.

Hello.

So here we go, I'm not really sure in the point of this blog, i guess its somewhere to put my work old and new, but also to post things i find that take my interest.
